Garden & Gun Magazine – Weekend in Bermuda

Garden & Gun Magazine was back in Bermuda this past November, I had previously worked with them before when featuring some exciting locals. For those that don’t know they are a magazine about the sporting culture, food, music, art, and travel of the Southern United States, a very influential and prestigious publication!

This trip to Bermuda was quite special, they had invited a selection of their readers to join some of the magazine executives along with special guests on a weekend of sightseeing, amazing food and cocktails as well as some special events.

The opening night saw them enjoying a delightful cocktail party on the newly renovated Hamilton Princess waterside overlooking the setting sun. Some seriously mouthwatering hors d’oeuvre’s and of course the Bermuda staple Dark’n Stormy’s were served up! Special guests the Lee Brothers and Magazine Executive Rebecca Darwin were on hand to meet and great. Have a scroll down to see some of their other impressive events and sights while visiting Bermuda.

In Addition to a very active Wedding photography business Gavin also takes on select Commercial clients and brands to work with, be sure to visit for more info: www.bermudaphotography.bm

Day 2 saw the group boarding the beautiful Venetian at Hamilton Princess dock for a stunning tour of the Harbour and Great Sound. The group was in for a special treat as America’s Cup Racing Team Oracle were practicing which made for some excitement! Special guests on board this trip were Jesse Baylin who was due to perform on the Saturday night and her husband, Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill.

Later that evening it was dinner at the Coral Beach Club and entertainment by the talented Joy Barnum. Everyone was welcomed to Bermuda by Bermuda Tourism Authority CEO Bill Hanbury

On Saturday morning the group was treated to a very insightful tour of the Town of St. George’s, our World Heritage sight. The tour started off at the Unfinished Church then moved along to the Historical Society Museum, St. Peter’s Church, Lily Bermuda Perfumery, Tucker House and finished in Kings Square. Guided by the Lee Brothers it was an amazing experience where everyone learned so much about Bermuda and it’s many historical stories!

That evening Garden & Gun guests were in for a special treat and for an amazing dinner at Marcus’ at the Hamilton Princess. After cocktails came the big surprise entrance of a Bermuda Gombey Troupe that led the way to dinner. Dinner was an impressive selection and blend of Southern US and Bermudian Cuisine, Chef Marcus Samuelsson was on hand and personally oversaw the meal. A truly amazing treat and the perfect ending to a great weekend in Bermuda!
