The other day I posted this image to Facebook. It sparked a lot of interest receiving lots of attention, below is a bit more about that evening and serves as a shocking reminder of just how quickly the weather can change!
About an hour before venturing down to Grape Bay this past Thursday I had spotted an enormous cloud growing off of the South Shore. At the time it was of the friendly looking, warm and puffy type, totally harmless yet distinctly different. I’d figured on it being really well lit up with the sun going down opposite it over the West so I ventured out to get ready for something special, well at least hoping!
About 10mins after getting there it all of sudden started changing, transforming in shape and growing darker…
The first image below was shot at 8:15pm, the bottom image was at 8:26pm, I know this as the camera time stamps each image. The transformation you see below was over a period of just 11 minutes!
Right after that last shot the rain and wind reached the shore chasing me off the beach, gear in hand, so worth it…
