A new home for the scenic Bermuda images!

It’s now long overdue, my current scenic gallery is very outdated and with it being based on Flash is just not cutting it in todays world of mobile devices! Frustrating for many viewers and no doubt hurting sales.

Enter a brand new, shiny, beautiful and easy to use site featuring all of my scenic, seascape and aerial images along with some new ones. I decided they really needed their own site, it was just too much to share them here at www.gavinhowarth.com. Shortly I’ll be launching the new site once all of the content is loaded and tested. I can assure you it’s going to be so much nicer, it’s a pretty long winded task creating a site from scrath, defining products, uploading, tagging and testing!

Below are a few sneak peeks showcasing the site and highlighting the new features. Hopefully you’re as excited as I am!

You really learn to appreciate the weather when the forecast is looking bleak and you’re preparing for the worst. Last Friday was just that, forecast to be a rainy mess but as if on cue the rain cleared off and a beautiful evening set in. Kristina and Andrew’s wedding was the perfect, intimate Bermuda beach wedding. The Reefs staff and Kathleen from Event Solutions, as always, were just so great to work with.

Esme, Ryan + Ronan!

It’s pretty awesome when you get to work with the same clients through so many important parts of their lives. I started with Ryan and Esme back in 2009 when we got together for their engagement session, it was early days back then but they were planning a beautiful summer wedding!

Their wedding was just that, so perfect and such a joyous time for them, still one of my favourite weddings, the start of their lives together. I’ve kept in touch with them since and was so happy to hear of the birth of their son, Ronan. Esme got in touch for a session with the 3 of them recently and it was so great spending the hour catching up and getting to know the new addition!

Congratulations Ryan and Esme, Ronan is perfect in every way, It’s been honour to capture your lives together these last few years!

Some Album Love!

So how do you summarise one the most important days of your life, a day filled with endless emotions and joy, the countless hours of work that went into it? How do you package that into a physical object that can accurately represent all that your wedding was? Despite all of todays online and virtual products I don’t think anything can touch the timeless, beautiful wedding album.

I’ve recently partnered up with, what’s in my opinion, the best album company out there, these albums are handmade and just so precise. The printing is exactly what I strive for, bold, sharp and perfectly saturated prints. Have a look below, the images do not do them justice. The albums all come in a custom box that reflects the design of the cover. Kim and Adam had selected a really nice Moonstone fabric for the album cover along with their favourite image.

The image inlay is just so precise, perfectly hand crafted!

We opened the album with their favourite engagement session images!

Next up is Frances and John’s album with the custom album box showing off their album cover image!

For the cover we used a solid black leather for the spine and back with a Quartz fabric accent.

A peak inside! The colours pop, and the seamless spreads are just insane…

Lexi & Carlos, an April Wedding!

And we’re off, wedding season is here and what a great start to the season! In spite of cooperative weather the show must go on as they say and it certainly did, while it was heavily overcast we got lucky with the torrential rain holding off till later in the day. Laughter, tears and so much joy, what a great night.

I’ve been trying to schedule a session with Ashleigh for months but unfortunately due to weather and timing it felt like it would never happen. Finally after long last we had a perfect Sunday and so we planned to start our adventure at the beautiful Southlands property!

Vernal & Teresa – Casemates Adventure

So when it’s pouring with rain, you have a portrait session scheduled and the show must go on – what do you do? Well, there are some challenges, Vernal, Teresa and I decided to head to Casemates, an old prison, abandoned 20 years ago! Last year this time I had some fun exploring Casemates and said then it would be great to come back with a fun couple. I hadn’t pictured having to only do it in pouring rain but hey, these things happen. Obviously outside was a no go but it didn’t stop us working our way through the creepy, empty shell of a former prison.

Balloon Party!!

Alright, before you go getting any crazy ideas this is not a new concept I’m now working on… Think of it as a favour for a friend and hey, something a little different for the Blog! Sam was back on the island for a few days on a school break and had wanted to have a balloon extravaganza, I was just along to document it. While not my typical post it’s definitely colourful and something a little different before the Blog goes nuts with the upcoming wedding season! As you can see the girls had a blast!
